Planting and More Chicks

This morning we went outside and planted Sunflower and Impatiens seeds.
The children had a lot of fun.

Day 2 of the ChicksWe have a total of 14 chicks and still more to hatch. We got four chicks out of the box today so that the children could take a closer look.

Chicks Have Arrived!!

As you can see, from the pictures below, the baby chicks have decided to join the Firefly Freeway classroom. So far we have 7 chicks and three more whose shells have started to crack. We have a total of 36 eggs that can possibly hatch but we are not sure if they were all fertilized (which means that they won't hatch at all because there is not chick inside the egg).

The children came up with the following rules for the chicks.

1. Keep your hands out of the box.

2. Leave the light alone.

3. No toys inside the box.
